Good mornting Bizzies!
First, I want to thaaank everyone for the happy birthday wishes, gifts and shout outs last week. I always say that I am blessed to have such good people in my life. This year I didn’t plan anything big or orchestrate a party. I actually didn’t have time and just wanted to do something low-key with family and close friends. I celebrated aaalll week-long though! Here are some of the high-lights:
I kicked off the week with a nice dinner with my good friend and designer Petro Montego. He made reservations for us at Fig & Olive in Los Angeles, on Melrose. It was my first time there and I have to say I really enjoyed it! The food was great and the ambiance was perfect…candle lights and linen!
Desert, because I looove sweets!! I had the apple tart a la mode and he had the carmalized, peach cheesecake. Yuuummy!
Me on the patio of olive oil.
Birthday, day: After a b-day breakfast with my family, I spent the rest of my day at a really good friends house in Malibu, on the coast. We had the best time! My friend’s home was just what I needed. He just recently finished remodeling his home and it was designed and layed out like a perfectly staged model home right out of the pages of Architect Digest. The entire home has custom features fit for a king! I was so busy relaxing and enjoying the ocean view that I forgot to take pics! We had dinner at Geoffrey’s, oceanside. It was the best!! I had the beat salad and the lobster of the day. A meal for a queen! lol
Next, my mini-me and I attended the MS Awareness Benefit Fashion Show sponsored by Donna Karan/DKNY at Bloomingdales in Sherman Oaks. They had some pretty cute looks for fall. Here are a couple of my faves:
Look out weekend, here I come, because weekends, were made for fun!!! Two events in one night. First up, my fellow leo fashionista and ABizzyT.com contributing celebrity make-up artist Kelly J. and I hit up her client, Maxine B.’s cookie launch party. Apparently, this original member of the 80’s all girl super group Mary Jane Girls has some serious cooking and baking skills! Maxine has a catering company and has launched Maxi B.’s Gourmet Powder Puff Cookie Shop adding to her list of business in the food industry. I must say, my favorite Mary Jane Girl is killin it! Her organic cookies are the bombdotcom!!! I couldn’t get enough!
The night ended at a backyard, house-party for multi-media, photographer extraordinaire, Marcus Redd of MRM (Marcus Redd Mediaworks). This party was just what I needed to end week one of my birthday month. lol There was a small group of who’s who in attendance with good food, fun and great folks!
We had a blast!
Whew, what a week!! I had to get in some rest and relaxation in preparation for another bizzy week, this week, so I packed up my mini-me and nieces and headed to the beach. It was a bit chilly out so no bathing suit. Sorry! lol
School starts this week as well so, a play day at the beach was in order.
Ahhhh, live, love and enjoying life is what it’s all about.
