Good afternoon Bizzies!
Happy Hump Daay!! Okay, so I got a lot of inquiries about the vintage jacket I wore over the weekend to the Lifestyle Bloggers LA event (see post from Monday) and so this is part 2 featuring the deets on what I wore…
Now, first off, I’m one of those people that pre-shop for events. Even if I have nowhere to go at the moment, I like to at least be semi-prepared. I don’t particularly like the pressure of pulling a look together last minute simply because it can be a hit or miss….and I definitely want to hit! lol So, because of this practice, I pretty much have something in my closet ready to go for just about any event or occasion. Hence, the look for the Lifestyle Bloggers LA event.
Up until the night before, I wasn’t sure what I was going to wear. All I knew is that I wanted to be stylish, fashionable, chic and comfortable. I took into consideration the venue, the crowd type and the weather. Since, for this particular event, I would be amongst other stylish people and I wanted to be comfortable, I built the look around a pair of hi-waisted jeans that I purchased on sale at Zara a couple of months ago. You can never go wrong dressing up a pair of jeans!
I paired the jeans with a vintage inspired, sheer, peach top to dress the look up. I pulled a pair of two-toned peach and black heels, I found on sale at Zara, out to add to my theme and color pallet.
The look was cute to me, but not complete. So, I went into my closet looking for some texture or a nice print to add some drama and gussy the look up a bit. I ran across this beautiful piece I bought two years ago at one of my favorite vintage boutiques in North Hollywood, Kathy’s E Boutique. I bought this topper…jacket, to go with a vintage gown I was wearing to a 20’s/30’s themed New Year Eve party. It was too cold to wear it then, so I opted to wear fur instead. Anyhoo, I kind of forgot about this piece and as soon as I saw it I knew it was exactly what I needed to help complete the look!
Now, I’m almost there. I need accessories. Over-sized clutches are trending right now. This is one of my favorites by Pour la Victoire.
I don’t like mixing my metals, so to pick up the gold details on my bag, I added a couple of simple gold pieces!
I decided to pin my hair up in a loose wavy bun to compliment the whole throw back inspired look.
Voila! I think it all came together nicely, if I do say so myself (in my drunkin love Jay-Z voice). lol
Believe it or not, this whole look didn’t cost any more than $200 (excluding the accessories). That is one of the advantages of knowing your own style, keeping up with trends and being able to shop end of season sales and scoring items that are essentially timeless or fashion forward.
So, what do you think?
