AFTERNOON T.!-Turn-up Tuesday, February 24, 2015-My Best of the Best red carpet picks…87th Annual Academy Awards

Good afternoon Bizzies!

Happy Tuesdaay!!!  So Sunday night was a big night in both the entertainment and fashion industries. It was the 87th annual Academy Awards, a.k.a the Oscars. One of the most coveted award shows of the season.  The show took place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and the red carpet was on fire!!!  Everyone showed up and pretty much showed out this year.  There were a couple of minor situations and fashion violations,  but overall, it was exciting.   I could not wait to see some of my favorite red carpet starlets,  Lupita, Reese, Zoe Saldana and Gwenyth Paltrow, just to name a few.  It was pearls, lace, bold colors and face, hunty!!!  I mean, fashion and style at it’s finest!  So, here is tis, my best of the best dressed picks:

One of the most anticipated arrivals was Ms. Lupita Nyong’o.  And yep, she did it again!

Yaaas!  Serving it all, grace, body and face!  Lupita wore an all white Calvin Klein gown donned in pearls.   She looks amazing…as usual!  She’s like a modern-day African Barbie doll to me.  You can put anything high fashion on her and it works!!  Loves!

Another one of my fave fashionistas, that I couldn’t wait to see, was Reese Witherspoon.  After slaying the red carpet at the Golden Globes, I was dying to see what she was going to wear at the Oscars.  Baby blue done fab! I looove this number by Tom Ford.  It’s classic, sexy and chic.  The black detail off the shoulders and around the waist for a touch of color is fabulous!  She looks amazing!

Oh yeah, Gwenyth Paltrow in a Ralph & Russo gown.   She is absolutely pretty in pink. Sexy, sophisticated, simple and chic.   This look speaks to me.   The one sleeve with the flower detail…bam!,…takes it to another level for me.   This piece, I would wear.  Loves!!

Zoe Saldana.  Now this is how you bounce back after having a baby!  She looks like a goddess in this blush pink Versace number.  I mean, her entire look is on point!  The details on the dress, the jewelry, her hair…pure perfection!!!

Scarlett Johanson also in Versace.  Yaaaassss!!!   Loves the color and the dress fits her perfectly.  That neck piece is everything!  She looks like some sort of fashion super hero to me here.  She killed it!

And speaking of killing it, Ms. Rita Ora has been on a roll lately.  She has completely redeemed and reinvented herself.  Once on my worst dressed list and a frequent offender on my Monday Madness fashion foolery report.  Ms. Ora has arrived!   I mean, she has been on point and consistent this entire year so far.  I love everything about this look.  She has  this whole sedgy (sexy and edgy) thing down. Marchesa is one of my favorite designers.  This was a great match. Werk!!!

Next up, great red moments! To me, it’s a bit tricky pulling off a great red look on the red carpet, but these ladies nailed it!

Rosamund Pike, looked a-mazing in Givenchy Haute Couture.  This look will be on every best dressed list for the season.  Red roses could not have been worn better!

Dakota Johnson, Hollywood’s new “it girl” looked stunning in Saint Laurent.  This gown is perfect!  I love, love, love the sparkling, jeweled one shoulder strap on this dress that’s doubling as an accessory and statement piece. Simple, elegant and chic! Great choice for her.

Guilliana Rancic looked gorge in Mireille Dagher.  She is also one of my fave fashionistas and yet again, this red carpet look did not disappoint.  There had been some chatter and concerns about her weight…or lack thereof lately, at a couple of previous red carpet events, but I must say she looks stunning in this lace number. Loves her!

~White haute…

Jenna Dewan-Tatum rockin another one of my fave red carpet designers, Zuhair Murad.  The plunging neckline, the jeweled details on this dress is everything!  She looks so hott in this number.  Her entire look was on point! Gorge!!!

Cause aaallll of me…loves this dress!  Chrissy Teigan in looking uber sexy in Zuhair Murad, of course.  That split though!!!!!  Loves  the deep red lip.

87th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Marion Cotilard in Dior Couture. Loves the touch of  the black booty band detail and the honeycomb textured fabric. I think both gives this gown it’s own personality. Fun, fun, fun!  She seems to be channeling Audrey Hepburn to me. Loves the hair as well.

~Best nude…

E! News Catt Sadler stuuunnnned in this piece by Charbel Zoe.  Loooves! She looked a-mazing!!

~Cool color…

J. Hud is in the building!  I absolutely looooves her in this yellow gown by Romona Keveza.  She looks so pretty. This is definitely a perfect simple, sexy, no fuss red carpet look.

I just like this youthful look.  Jamie Chung is adorable in this cute and sweet number by Yanina Couture. Loves the starburst, sparkle detail.

Zendaya in a Vivienne Westwood gown.  I think she looks so cute!  Loves the dreads…which is not an easy thing to pull off with an evening gown, but for her, in this moment, it works.

And that’s all folks!
